Spooky Snowmen Hot Cocoa Treats

Even Scout Elves love to celebrate Halloween before the Christmas countdown begins! When your little ones are enjoying trick-or-treating or a spooky movie night, your Scout Elf might surprise them with this frightfully fun idea, Spooky Snowmen Hot Chocolate Treats!

Perfect for the Aussie springtime, when evenings are still cool enough for a warm cuppa, this sweet treat brings a bit of North Pole magic (and marshmallow mischief!) to your Halloween festivities.

Materials:

  • Your favourite hot chocolate or hot cocoa mix
  • Large and medium-sized marshmallows
  • Orange and black icing or edible pens
  • Toothpicks or small skewers

Instructions:

  1. Whip up the cocoa: Your Scout Elf will start by brewing a delicious cup of your favourite hot chocolate, whether that’s a classic cocoa or a rich Milo-style mix.
  2. Decorate the snowmen: Next, your elf will use orange and black icing to draw spooky snowman faces on the marshmallows, some smiling, others looking adorably eerie! A few even get icing “arms” or creepy grins for extra Halloween fun.
  3. Stack them up: Your elf will carefully stack one large and one medium marshmallow together, securing them with a toothpick to create mini snowmen. They’ll stand them up on a plate ready to top your mugs of cocoa.
  4. Add the spooky finish: Just before your family finds them, your elf will perch a few of these marshmallow snowmen on top of each mug, turning an ordinary hot chocolate into a Halloween showstopper!
